Testimonials
Don't just take our word for it. Read what customers say.
Nearly every job we take on comes from a recommendation or a returning customer. These reviews were left by homeowners across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Crewe and Stafford, after we had packed up and left the house clean.
Re-skimmed two bedrooms and the hallway. Immaculate work and left the place cleaner than they found it.
Ceiling came down after a leak. Boarded and skimmed in a day and you would never know.
Silicone render on the whole house. On site every morning on time, finish is spot on.
Micro cement in the bathroom, exactly what we wanted and priced fairly. Highly recommend.
Quoted quickly, turned up when promised and the walls are perfect. No mess left behind at all.
Full house replaster before we moved in. Great communication the whole way through.

An epoxy resin floor is poured on as a liquid and cures into a hard, continuous surface that copes with knocks, spills and heavy use without complaint. Rigby’s Plastering lays resin floors across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire, for garages and workshops as well as modern rooms inside the home.
Where a resin floor makes sense
Resin earns its place where a floor has to work hard. In a garage or workshop it stands up to tyres, dropped tools, oil and regular cleaning, and it wipes clean rather than soaking up stains like bare concrete. In a utility room, kitchen or open-plan space it gives a smooth, contemporary, joint-free floor that is easy to keep clean and comes in a range of colours and finishes.
Because it is poured, it flows out level and covers the whole area as one continuous surface, with no grout lines or board joins to trap dirt. That combination of toughness and low upkeep is why owners keep asking for it.
The base decides everything
A resin floor lives or dies on the concrete underneath it. The slab has to be sound, dry and properly prepared, because resin bonds to a clean, keyed surface and will lift from a poor one. Rigby’s grinds or prepares the concrete, fills cracks and holes, and deals with any dust or old coating before a drop of resin goes down. A damp or crumbling slab is flagged and dealt with first rather than being poured over and left to fail.
Getting this stage right is unglamorous but it is the difference between a floor that lasts and one that peels. It is the same principle that runs through all of Rigby’s work: the preparation is what the finish stands on.
Laying and finishing
Once the base is ready, the resin is applied and spread to an even thickness, then left to flow out and cure. Where slip resistance is wanted, in a garage or a wet area, a fine aggregate can be broadcast into the surface to add grip. A sealing or top coat gives the final look and hardness.
The floor is walkable within roughly a day and ready for heavier use after longer, with full curing over several days. A realistic timescale for your floor is given up front so you can plan around it.
This is one of the specialist finishes Rigby’s offers alongside the wider plastering and rendering range. Coverage runs across a roughly 30-mile radius from Stoke, and quotes are free.

Questions
Epoxy Resin Flooring: common questions
How much does epoxy resin flooring cost?
It depends on the floor area, the state of the existing concrete and the finish you want. A cracked or oily slab needs more preparation, which affects the price. Every floor is measured and quoted free.
Is epoxy resin good for a garage floor?
Very. It shrugs off tyres, dropped tools, oil and cleaning, and wipes down easily, which is why garages, workshops and utility rooms are common places to use it.
How long before I can use the floor?
It is walkable within roughly a day and takes longer before it is ready for heavy loads or vehicles. Full curing runs over several days, and a clear timescale is given for your specific floor.
Is a resin floor slippery?
A smooth resin floor can be slick when wet, so where slip resistance matters a fine aggregate can be added to the surface to give more grip without spoiling the look.
Can epoxy resin go over my existing concrete?
Usually, if the slab is sound and dry. The concrete is ground or prepared and any cracks or holes are filled first. A damp or crumbling base has to be sorted before resin goes down, or it will not bond.
Can I have it in my house, not just a garage?
Yes. Poured resin gives a smooth, continuous, easy-clean floor that suits modern kitchens, utility rooms and open-plan spaces, in a range of colours and finishes.
